Technology Improvements Are Coming!
We are very excited to be adding 5 new laptop carts and 132 student laptops to our inventory next year.
Welcome Lisa Shirley, our new 5th grade teacher
Hello! I am excited to start my first year teaching at Creighton’s Corner Elementary! I am from the ChristmasTree Capital of the World: Indiana, Pennsylvania. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Vinton, inspired me to become a teacher and I have made my dream a reality!
I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. During the 2013 -2014 academic school year, I served as an AmeriCorps teacher at a rural school in Pennsylvania. I had the privilege to work with students and teachers in prekindergarten through sixth grade. After school, I tutored fifth and sixth grade students whostruggled in math.
Creighton’s Corner is my new home and I am proud to be part of your school family. I’m enthusiastic to start the school year!
Welcome Bethany Banaszewski, our New Third Grade Teacher
"Miss Bethany Banaszewski earned her Bachelors degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Early Childhood Education and Special Education in 2013. This will be her first year with the Loudoun County Public Schools, and she couldn't be more excited to join the Creighton's Corner family!
In her spare time, Miss Banaszewski enjoys many different hobbies. She grew up near Pittsburgh and has lived there for most of her life. As a result, she is a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and tries to watch every game. She also loves to read, write, and ride horses!
Miss Banaszewski hopes her Colts are ready to learn and cannot wait for a very successful year!"

Visiting Mt. Vernon
I always love visiting Mt. Vernon and learning about the father of our country. George Washington was larger than life at just under 6 feet three inches tall and 225 pounds, he was a physically intimidating, yet graceful (he was recognized in many historical documents as an accomplished dancer and horseman) leader. He truly was a principled leader and his distaste for the dishonor of retreat almost cost him the war in New York. By many accounts the man lives up to the legend. It's just a short trip away to see an American Treasure.

What learning should be
Learning is about experiences. It's about feeling it, smelling it, seeing it and wondering about it. This is what one day of learning looked like this week at CCES.

Welcome Holley Morrill to our 1st Grade Team
Please Welcome Holley Morrill.
Holley Lyn Morrill
I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. I went to college at SUNY Oswego for my undergrad and graduate program in Elementary Education. I graduated with my masters in 2007 and moved straight to Virginia to begin my first year teaching in 3rdgrade. 1st grade has always been my passion so the very next year I was moved to 1st and have taught 1st grade for the past 6 years in Fairfax County. I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. I am very outgoing and have a strong passion for teaching. I love helping people and have always dreamed of being a teacher since I was a little girl.
I got married in 2011 to my highschool sweetheart who happens to be a huge sports fan, so in the majority of my spare time you can find me cheering on the Buffalo Bills & Sabres, NY Mets, and Syracuse basketball. I also love going to the beach, game nights, cooking, scrapbooking and spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I are currently in the process of moving to Loudoun County and cannot wait to begin a new chapter in our life!

Welcome Kim Nace, our new Librarian
Welcome Kim Nace, our New Librarian.
My name is Kim Nace, and I’m looking forward to being the new librarian at Creighton’s Corner Elementary School this upcoming school year! I grew up in Maryland and have lived here in Northern Virginia since 1994. I currently live in Leesburg near the downtown area with my husband and furry friends, a cat and a black Labrador retriever and I love it!
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an Early Childhood Education certification from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. While teaching here in Loudoun County, I completed my M.Ed. in Advanced Studies of Teaching and Learning with an endorsement in Library Science from George Mason University, 2003. I have been working as a literacy facilitator for LCPS for the past 9 years and have very much enjoyed building relationships with teachers and supporting them in their classroom with implementing best practices and a literacy framework. Prior to this position, I spent 13 years in the classroom and have taught all grades Pre-K through second. I am extremely passionate about literacy learning and love working with both students and teachers, so I look forward to working closely with the staff and community here at Creighton’s Corner. Collaboration is a key component to student achievement, and I am here to offer my support in many ways.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, spending as much time with my family and friends as possible, and traveling to the Outer Banks, NC every summer! It is my dream and goal to one day soon, be certified with a therapy dog and work with students in the library, classroom and larger community to become better readers and to LOVE reading.
