Welcome Ms. Kim

My name is Carol Kim and I am so excited to be joining the Kindergarten team at Creighton's Corner Elementary! I have a Bachelor's degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in Elementary Education PK-6 from William and Mary. I grew up in Chantilly, Virginia. In my free time I enjoy running, reading, crafting, and spending time outdoors.

Welcome Ms. Merriman

My name is Tyne Merriman. I would like to mention that I am beyond grateful to be entering into an elementary school of such talented, friendly, and welcoming group of teachers and staff! This will be a year of many firsts for me, as I am sure it will be for you too! As my first year at CCE and my first year teaching, I know it will be a great one! I am especially excited that I will be teaching first grade. It was my favorite grade to be in growing up, as well as my favorite grade to teach.

To share a little about myself, I just moved to Virginia to pursue my dream of teaching. I grew up in a town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania called New Brighton. I have two older brothers and three step-siblings. I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. I have had the privilege of teaching preschool in Mexico and studying special education in Costa Rica. My teaching experiences include preschool, pre-k, first, second, and third grade. I love traveling and hope to someday visit Australia, as well as many other parts of the world. I enjoy going camping, being outdoors, going to the beach, doing crafts, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Welcome Ms. Johnston

Hello Colts!  I’m Taylor Johnston and I was born and raised in Loudoun County and went on to receive my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The College of William and Mary. As an undergraduate, I studied English and Marketing; as a graduate student, I studied Elementary Education. I am very excited to return to Loudoun as a teacher (and a Colt!). This will be my first year at Creighton’s Corner and I look forward to a wonderful year of learning in fourth grade.

Welcome Ms. Parrish

Hi, My name is Kari Parrish and I'm very excited to be a part of the 1st grade team and Creighton's Corner family.  I completed my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland.  My Masters had an additional emphasis in Arts Integration and the Project Approach.  I taught in Montgomery County at a Language Arts Magnet school before moving to Northern Virginia where I have enjoyed teaching PreK as well as been a site director for an early literacy program. I currently live in Lovettsville with my husband, two daughters, and our menagerie of dogs, cats, and chickens. When I'm not cheering my girls on the soccer field or stage, I'm found reading or tending my garden.  I also love making new discoveries while traveling or exploring the great outdoors.  My philosophy is nothing without joy! And I am looking forward to a joyful year full of discoveries with all of you.

Welcome Ms. Glass

My name is Kelsey Glass and I am incredibly excited to be joining the 1st Grade Team at Creighton's Corner Elementary! I received both my Bachelor's degree in History and my Master's degree in Elementary Education from The College of William & Mary. I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia and am excited to be returning to the Northern Virginia area! In my spare time I enjoy running, baking and reading.

Welcome Ms. Linett

My name is Jennifer Linett, and I am excited to begin my first year of teaching at Creighton’s Corner as an ELL resource teacher! I am 23 years old and a Northern Virginia native.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William & Mary, having graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in History.  My studies were concentrated in developmental and social psychology and U.S. and Latin American history.  I earned my Master of Arts degree from the College of William & Mary School of Education, where I graduated this past May with a concentration in Elementary Education and an ESL Dual Endorsement.  Working with a diverse group of students from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds inspired me to pursue a career in teaching ELLs.  I look forward to working with the students, families, and teachers at Creighton’s Corner next year!

Welcome Ms. Schamus

My name is Laura Schamus, and I am thrilled to be joining the Creighton’s Corner family for the 2015-2016 school year. For the past 3 years, I taught fourth grade at Seldens Landing Elementary, and I look forward to bringing my experiences and enthusiasm to the fifth grade classroom.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Radford University. I have always enjoyed working with children, and it is my passion in life to make a difference as an educator and mentor. I spent many years as a tennis coach for various summer programs in Loudoun County. I was also a student in LCPS (Go Bulldogs!) and appreciate the opportunity to give back to this wonderful community as a teacher.

Outside of school, I enjoy being active (especially golfing, playing tennis, and running). I love watching sports and attending sporting events, especially baseball, football, hockey, and tennis. I also enjoy reading, cooking, traveling, driving in my RAV4, tending to my brand new vegetable and herb garden, and of course spending as much time as possible with family and friends.

Staff Volleyball Game

We had a great turnout for the staff volleyball game and after a hard fought match our grades 3-5 teachers pulled out the victory. We had a great turnout as usual and our cheerleaders were awesome!
