Welcome Carly Wong, our new 3rd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Wong holds a Bachelor's degree in English from William & Mary and a Master of

Arts in Teaching degree from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC. 

She is excited to start her ninth year of teaching and her first year at CCES. She previously taught sixth grade for eight years in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville.

Mrs. Wong enjoys running and spending time outdoors with her husband and two

children. She is looking forward to joining the Creightons Corner Family.

Welcome Holley Morrill to our 1st Grade Team

Please Welcome Holley Morrill.

I was born and raised in Rochester, NY.  I went to college at SUNY Oswego for my undergrad and graduate program in Elementary Education. I graduated with my masters in 2007 and moved straight to Virginia to begin my first year teaching in 3^rdgrade. 1^st grade has always been my passion so the very next year I was moved to 1^st and have taught 1^st grade for the past 6 years in Fairfax County. I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. I am very outgoing and have a strong passion for teaching. I love helping people and have always dreamed of being a teacher since I was a little girl.

 

I got married in 2011 to my highschool sweetheart who happens to be a huge sports fan, so in the majority of my spare time you can find me cheering on the Buffalo Bills & Sabres, NY Mets, and Syracuse basketball. I also love going to the beach, game nights, cooking, scrapbooking and spending time with my friends and family. My husband and I are currently in the process of moving to Loudoun County and  cannot wait to begin a new chapter in our life!

Welcome Kim Nace, our New Librarian.

My name is Kim Nace, and I’m looking forward to being the new librarian at Creighton’s Corner Elementary School this upcoming school year! I grew up in Maryland and have lived here in Northern Virginia since 1994.  I currently live in Leesburg near the downtown area with my husband and furry friends, a cat and a black Labrador retriever and I love it!

 

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an Early Childhood Education certification from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.  While teaching here in Loudoun County, I completed my M.Ed. in Advanced Studies of Teaching and Learning with an endorsement in Library Science from George Mason University, 2003.  I have been working as a literacy facilitator for LCPS for the past 9 years and have very much enjoyed building relationships with teachers and supporting them in their classroom with implementing best practices and a literacy framework.  Prior to this position, I spent 13 years in the classroom and have taught all grades Pre-K through second. I am extremely passionate about literacy learning and love working with both students and teachers, so I look forward to working closely with the staff and community here at Creighton’s Corner.  Collaboration is a key component to student achievement, and I am here to offer my support in many ways.

 

In my spare time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, spending as much time with my family and friends as possible, and traveling to the Outer Banks, NC every summer!  It is my dream and goal to one day soon, be certified with a therapy dog and work with students in the library, classroom and larger community to become better readers and to LOVE reading.

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS)

Melanie is a native Floridian.  She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College in 1992 and followed up with a Master’s Degree in Education/Library Science in 2008. She just completed her fourteenth year of teaching – eleven of which were spent in kindergarten. Melanie joined Loudoun County Public Schools in 2012 and has taught kindergarten at Buffalo Trail Elementary for the past two years.

Melanie and husband Stephen have lived in Northern Virginia for twelve years and currently reside in South Riding.  They have four children who will all attend Freedom High School in the fall.  During her time off work, Melanie enjoys watching her children play soccer, football, and volleyball as well as sewing, reading, and scrapbooking.  She is happy to be part of the Creightons Corner kindergarten team for the 2014-2015 school year.

Please Welcome Kristi Walker to our Second Grade Team. Ms. Walker moved to Virginia from Tulsa, Oklahoma where she has taught first and second grade for the last nine years. She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and really loves teaching the primary grades and being a part of her students early education experiences. She strives to make learning fun and create meaningful relationships with her students. She is really looking forward to joining the second grade team.

Welcome Back Karen Creech

Please welcome back Ms. Karen Creech to our 5th Grade Team. Mrs. "C" (Mrs. K. Creech) grew up in Charleston, SC before she left to attend college at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.  She earned Bachelor Degrees in Education and Psychology.  She returned to Charleston to marry Mr. Steven Creech, a United States Coast Guardsman, and brother of Mrs. C. Creech's husband Greg Creech.    Moving with her husband to New Jersey allowed Mrs. C the opportunity to complete her Masters at Richard Stockton College in instructional technology.  During Mr. Creech's career, the Coast Guard has stationed their family in 6 different states, and they have enjoyed visiting 49 of the US States.    Mr. and Mrs. Creech have two beautiful children. Emmalie will be a freshman this year at East Carolina University. Warren will be a senior in high school. He keeps the family very busy at football games.   Mrs. C has taught for 20 years, and dearly loves the classroom.  She has taught all elementary grades with the exception of 4th grade.  She is excited to be teaching at Creighton's again and is looking forward to a  great year!

Welcome Jennifer Daniel to First Grade

Please welcome Jennifer Daniel to our first grade team.

This is Jennifer Daniel's 10th year teaching 1st grade in Loudoun County.  Before coming to Creighton's, she taught 6 years at Horizon Elementary, and 3 years at Lowes Island Elementary.  Before that, she received her Master's degree in Education from George Mason University and her Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.   She did a teaching internship in the United Kingdom and student taught in Wilmington North Carolina.   In her spare time, Mrs. Daniel enjoys reading, running, volunteering with the youth at her church, and spending time with her husband and son.  Last year, Mrs. Daniel took the year off from teaching to stay home with her newborn son.  She found herself missing her students and knew that she wanted to go back to teaching.  Mrs. Daniel is eager to return to the classroom and is excited about joining the Creighton's Corner family.
