This picture was taken on Nov. 11th in Times Square. A NYC Police Officer encountered a shoeless, homeless man on the street and ducked into a shoe store, bought the man a pair of boots, and knelt down to place them on his feet. The officer had no idea he was being photographed. Upon being interviewed, the officer states that he keeps the $75 receipt to remind him how lucky he is. This photo has gone
viral on the internet and deservedly so!

Monday Night, Nov. 12th - Star Gazing Night
The CCE PTA is pleased to present a free, special event to celebrate National Education Week: a Stargazing Party! Join us Monday, Nov. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. and get a close-up view of the stars and moon with members of the National Capital Astronomers and the Northern Virginia Astronomy Club. These experienced astronomers will set up their telescopes on the CCE soccer field for students to view the night sky.
To ensure there is an adequate number of telescopes and volunteers available, this is a limited capacity event. You must complete the registration form and send to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Finally, please remember to bring a flashlight and, if you have one, a telescope or set of binoculars. All children must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian for the entire event. Questions? Email ccestargazingevent@gmail.com.
